Silchester's Celebration of the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III
As we expect many people will want to watch the coronation live on TV on Saturday 6th May, we are planning a big celebration in the village for the following day
Coronation Big Lunch Sunday 7th May
The proposed program for the day will be
10am - Church service on the field
12 noon - public set up of personal gazebos
1pm - event opening
1.30pm - Community Choir
2.15pm - music and song from Sion Whiley
3.30pm - PTA games in the arena
4.30pm - Raffle draw
5.00pm - event closes
Many different organisations in the village are taking part
The Scouts and Guides are running a vegetable carving competition
The Brownies are organising a treasure hunt
There will be a display of Vintage Cars on the field
Kids games
Live Music from Sion Whiley
The above activities and times are provisional and may be added to as new events are arranged
Food
Bring your own picnic or enjoy some of the delicious food on offer.
Pre-order a savoury picnic box from the Calleva and/or an afternoon tea box from the Pop Up Cafe
The Calleva will be running a BBQ in front of the pub and will have a trailer bar on the field
Fresh Crepes will also be available on the field
