The annual Boundary Walk will take place on Sunday 14th October 2018.
Clare Payne of the Silchester Striders will be coordinating the boundary walk this year. It will start at the usual place in the Village Hall carpark at 11.30 with a blessing from our resident priest Rob Young.
Howard Wilkinson has agreed to lead the walk again and tell you a bit about the history of Silchester as you walk around the boundary.
We will stop for lunch at Haskers Farm courtesy of Brian and Debbie Watson - thank you both for hosting this event every year!
Steve Spillane has volunteered to drive the support vehicle so you can pile any lunch boxes, rucksacks, spare water, etc into his car if you don't want to carry them and he will meet us at several spots along the way and also bring along some wine for lunch.
If you haven't done this walk before, it is a great way to get to know the area and meet some new people. Well behaved dogs are welcome though they have to be put on leads in some sections where there is livestock or too many pheasants!
The walk takes us across the Common, through Lords Wood, into Pamber Forest, then along some pretty paths and fields along the boundary and finishes through the Roman site and back to the village.
