The Romans are coming back to Silchester.

To mark Professor Fulford's 50 years of archaeology digs at Calleva Atrebatum we are welcoming back the Romans!

Come and meet the soldiers and civilians of the Legio Secunda Augusta - a living history group.

1pm to 4pm in the field belonging to Graham and Amanda Hutton (to the left of the Drove when coming from Bramley Road - just after the three Edrington cottages) and accessible from the Roman Wall Car Park.

Watch their gladiators in battle, join their military drills and learn more about the pleasures and hardships of Roman Life. There will be bygone Crafts, Games and lots more to entertain the whole family.

and on the day (£7 adults/£3 children)

In the evening there will be a Dig Supper in the Village Hall.
